Engine






August 13 - Not a lot new on the engine, but I have finally put on some of the final pieces. Headers came in last week, and they are GORGEOUS! The March aluminum pulleys really are a nice finishing touch as well. I still have to 'modify' the distributor to work with the SpeedPro ECU, and I will do that soon. And a set of spark plug wires should just about finish it up! Oh yeah, I did finish up the intake recently too! :) Take a look.

July 17 - Well, the motor is basically together now! Lots of hurdles that I overcame, but the major components are together. Woo hoo! The only things remaining are the intake to be bolted on, the water pump, ATI dampener, and the distributor. I will finish those items up this week!

May 15 - The shortblock is done, except for the oil pump! Turns out the Bowtie block doesn't come with the dowels for the oil pump! :( So, I have to order a set of those tomorrow.

My heads are off getting CNC ported, and the intake is being port matched, so I can't finish up the motor anyway. I hope to have all the parts back by Memorial Day, but it may be the following week. By June I should have the motor all together!

I've learned a lot building this motor. I was able to degree the camshaft, blueprinted the bottom end (stats to come soon, when I learn how to make an HTML table! :), and installed, removed, and installed Spirolox for the first time (I HATE THEM!!!!!). If nothing else, this engine is a work of art in itself! :) It's gorgeous! ! !
