Chassis

Change of plans... Since ARDF is no longer offering the custom A-arm IFS setup, and the brake options aren't very good on the 84-87 Corvette suspension, I decided to try something different. I'm going with the Martz Chassis Rally front subframe and IFS.

Options I am getting with this setup include Wilwood front brakes and rotors (their 4-piston Dynalite Billet calipers and 12" rotors), 350# coilovers and adjustable shocks, and the 1" front sway bar. This setup will reduce a lot of weight from the front end, lower the front of the car about 2.5", and just generally look pretty sweet! :)

For the rear suspension, I've decided on a Ford 9" from Currie Enterprises. This unit will come with an aluminum third member, TrueTrak posi unit, 4.56:1 US Gear gears, 31-spline axles, and also with the Wilwood 4-piston rear disk brake kit. I will be running steel multi-leaf springs from Eaton springs, which will lower the rear of the car about 2.5" also.

August 13 - The Martz subframe/IFS arrived this week! WOO HOO! This thing is gorgeous (well, it will be when it gets some paint on it anyway). Check out the pics of it as it looked delivered. After I removed the shipping frame, I took a few more pics on the subframe and with a wheel installed.
