Pics of the Canfield 220cc port heads

Ok, these heads have caused me all sorts of frustrations! But I think I'm finally going to be rewarded in the end. I had them flowed after I received them, and I sure am glad I did! Max flow on the ports was 230cfm intake, 160cfm exhaust! Pathetic! After a couple of conversations with Canfield, it was determined that the bowls were not blended when the valve job was done, as it was supposed to be.

After sending the heads back to Canfield, I decided to go ahead and have them majorly ported. Fox Lake Power Products in Ohio did the work. The final results were 306cfm on the intake, 215cfm on the exhaust. The work looks great, and now the heads should flow as I expected...

Lift Intake
CFM
Exhaust
CFM
.100" 71 57
.200" 147 111
.300" 209 166
.400" 257 193
.500" 272 207
.600" 295 212
.700" 306 215

When installing the heads, I discovered that there was just no way I could get 4 of the nuts started on the ARP studs without removing valvesprings! ARGH! So, I pulled 4 of the 8 springs off to put the nuts on. If I ever have to pull the heads off this motor, it will likely come out of the car to make the job bearable... Let's hope I got it all right the first time! :)
